So, what is this?

It's a page with math and statistical formulas.....at least it'll be different from the usual personal page people have ( pictures of pets )

The natural number 'e'

e^x is computed by the formula 1 + x + ( x² / 2! ) + ( x³ / 3! ) + ... + ( xⁿ / n! ) ( as n goes to ∞ )

It is also known as Σ xⁿ/n! as n goes from 0 to ∞

Computing the margin of error in a public opinion poll ( with 2 choices )

The error is computed by this formula: ( the square root of ( (.5)(.5) / the number of respondents in the poll ) ) multiplied by 1.96; this gives a 95% confidence interval; a multiplier of 1 gives a confidence interval of 65%

What's a 'confidence interval'?

A confidence interval a range of values intended to contain the parameter of interest ( for this situation, the percentage of votes for each choice ) with a certain degree of confidence
